Laser Sailing at WRSC 

West Riding Sailing Club has a vibrant Laser Sailing community. Laser sailing at West Riding Sailing Club enables sailors or all ages and skill level to take to the water in an Olympic standard boat.  Lasers are the ideal boat for beginners of all ages through to seasoned pros.

The club regular hosts the UKLA ILCA Laser Opens. The 2024 Open at WRSC saw a record number of Laser sailors from across the region converge on the club to race it out on the water for pole position.

The ILCA Association is the home of is a single-handed racing dinghy.

The ILCA Olympic class boat is designed for all ages and abilities, sailors ranging from grassroots all the way up to Olympic sailors, and is one of the most popular racing dinghies ever built.

At WRSC sailors of all ages can progress into racing with the club's Start Racing Coaching session which provides hours of fun as sailors develop and hone their skills and confidence. 

 

Outside of the club ILCA offers regionally events where WRSC sailors can race and access additional training. Enabling sailors to forge new friendships and progress their sailing skills. 

 

With 200,000 boats scattered across hundreds of countries and clubs worldwide there is no surprise that the ILCA remains one of the world’s most popular adult and youth boats with one of the largest racing scenes in the UK.

    days of racing with first race start on both days 10.00
