Thank you for taking an interest in West Riding Sailing Club. 

We have been established on Wintersett Reservoir since 1937 and have witnessed the development in dinghy sailing from its early pre-war days, through the explosive expansion of the sport in the 1960’s and 1970’s, to the development of today’s sophisticated sailing boats and equipment. When it comes to inland dinghy sailing, we think we know what we’re talking about!  

What WRSC can offer you 

Whether you are a newcomer to the sport of sailing, or whether you are already an experienced dinghy sailor, WRSC provides family friendly sailing for all ages, levels, and tastes. 

·         Wintersett provides the best stretch of sailing water in West Yorkshire, solely  for the use of WRSC members. 

·         Modern clubhouse, rebuilt in 2006, including showers, galley and bar. 

·         Two powered rescue boats and one powered committee boat. 

·         Secure compounds that can berth up to 172 boats. 

·         Training on Special Days and Summer Camps, to help juniors, beginners and experienced sailors to improve their sailing skills – and to have fun! 

·         Club owned single and two-handed boats to encourage new members and beginners, both adult and juniors. 

·         Full, TWELVE MONTH racing programme. Wednesday evening racing in the summer. 

·         Unique 3-day Spring Bank Open Regatta, and specific Open Meetings for all club recognised classes during the year. 

·         Great social programme, including Annual Dinner Dance & Prizegiving, BBQ’s, Quiz Nights, or anything our members come up with!
