| Easter Sailing Takes Back Seat |

Some were snowed in, some were on holiday, at least one attended an 88th birhday party, and some probably slept in. The net effect was no racing at WRSC on Easter Sunday.
The day was not without its positives, however. The Hon Sec arrived with his Solo in the early afternoon and noted that some peliminary work had been done towards the rejuvenation of the "Laser Compound", while on the water Alasdair "Farmer" McQuire and Dave "Ploughman" Baxter had test driven one of the newly constructed weed-rakes and were assessing what modifications were necessary. Elsewhere, the club's Laser and Solo sailors were no doubt completing their fitness programmes for the Nothern Travellers Open this coming Sunday, either running up the Three Peeks backwards with a rucksack full of lead if your name is Owyn Wallace, or taking part in a long, long weekend of French gourmet cuisine and wine evaluation if your name is Jonathan Gledhill. It's hoped there will be a great turnout out of club members next Sunday, either sailing a Laser or a Solo, or helping OOD Mike Woodhead pull them out of the water when they fall in, or even just being there to watch the fun and and to contribute to the atmosphere of what ought to be a great day's sport. |
