Dave Baxter and Debbie Clarkson in Vago 358 take 6th in the Inland Championships at Grafham Water

Dave and Deb waved the WRSC flag at Grafham Water on the 31st May and 1st June for the Vago Inlands.

Sailing Vago XD 358 2-up they joined a growing number of boats with the different sail combinations as well as two handed and singlehanded. With the lack of breeze only one race was sailed on the Saturday with Dave and Deb holding 2nd place for most of the race despite close racing and various place changes in the fleet behind. An unfortunate wind shift changed positions on the finish line dropping them to 4th place.

Sunday looked promising for the WRSC team with continuing light winds and what initially appeared to be an amazing start in race 2. However, closer examination revealed that the initial lead was due to being quite a long way OCS of the real startline! Finally crossing the startline 200 yards behind the first boat left much to be done, but the team fought back through the fleet to take 9th place.

The 3rd and last race before the winds completely failed saw a close battle for the top places and only a few seconds seperating them on the finish line with Dave and Deb coming in 5th.

 A top weekend saw 6th place overall for WRSC, resulting in a 3rd place in the 2 up category bagging a couple of prizes as well.
