Saturday 19th September saw over 20 volunteers turning up to help on the workday.  Led by Guy Cokhill the teams were split into roof repairs, jetty repairs , slipway clearing and  building a new compound fence.  A big "Thank You" is needed for all the people who turned up as we really couldn't do it without you.  A huge amount was achieved during the day and provides a good foundation for the next workday on Saturday 26th September.

See you there for Part 2...

Over 40 fence posts were sunk during the day in a feat that would rival any professional oufit.  The efficiency of the operation led some members to question their current careers as we received quotes of around £8,000 to erect a similar fence.  Maybe it's the start of a new revenue source for the club, WRSC fence installers?

You'll now notice the end of the jetty has disappeared and replace with a concrete plinth.  The plinth has been built to provide a platform for a new jetty end that will link with the other concrete plinth.  The new jetty end will be built on Saturday 26th September at the next work day.  The remaining part of the slipway is now rock solid and fully supported by concrete so you can now walk down it without a single wobble.

The clubhouse roof has had some much needed T.L.C and all the seams have been sealed back down again so we can keep the rain out during the winter.

The slipway was also cleared of all the "presents" the swans and that infernal goose leave us during the week.  It wasn't a pleasant task but hopefully people will now appreciate a cleaner slipway when they launch their boats.  If anyone wants a goose for Christmas then please let us know!

There is a job for everyone on work days regardless of your skill.  There are a number of handy people who are willing to help those that aren't, so everyone can feel like they are adding something. They are fun days and you'll finish the day feeling proud you achieved something and you might have made a new friend or two.

Come and be part of the fun on Saturday 26th September.
