Laser Northern Grand Prix Circuit at West Riding SC PDF Print E-mail
Sunday 5th April.

27 boats entered the second leg of the Laser Northern Grand Prix Circuit at West Riding Sailing Club.   The forecast was for sunshine but little wind as competitors turned up to see a glassy lake.  However a building breeze filled in allowing race 1 to get underway with only a 15-minute postponement

Northern Brass Monkey Series 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Despite having one of the snowiest winters in 18 years and several ice overs, a total of 28 boats entered the 2009 Northern Brass Monkey Series, completing 10 races out of the 17 race series.

Week 4 Northern Brass Monkey Series 2009 PDF Print E-mail
Fabulous racing conditions swelled the entries for West Riding SC's Northern Brass Monkey Series to 23, with more visitors adding spice to proceedings.  8 mph from the South gradually built during the 2 back-to-back races to give some exhilarating sailing as the day wore on. Upwind shifts favoured both the left and right sides on various occasions, allowing plenty of place changing in the body of the fleet.

Week 3 Northern Brass Monkey Series 2009 PDF Print E-mail
After last week's racing was blown off due to strong winds, a gale strewn Saturday night accompanied by a forecast of winds up to 29 mph kept many would-be sailors away from the 3rd weekend of West Ring SC's Northern Brass Monkey.  Those with the bottle to turn up were rewarded with some brilliant sailing conditions in bright sunshine with the overall wind strength short of that forecast, but with some big gusts coming through for added excitement.
