With a forecast of strong winds and heavy rain, 45 boats made it to the three-day regatta at West Riding Sailing Club held over the Spring Bank holiday weekend. Of these 15 were Streakers who were holding their Northern area championships within the regatta.

As Summer arrives, West Riding Sailing Club is looking forward to the end of the month when the club will be holding its 2008 Spring Bank Open Regatta over the three days of the holiday weekend 24th – 26th May.

Bigger turnout for Spring Series |

|
After last weekend's disappointing turnout, there were nineteen boats out on the water for the 3rd weekend of the 2008 Spring Series on Sunday 4th May. This included five Lasers, five Solos, and a couple of Swordfish enjoying their first class start of the year. It was good to see Mark Weston and Guy Cokill out in their RS00's with their respective lady crews, plus a Streaker, a Solution and Mike Woodhead having fun in his Finn.

Spring Series kicks off in winter weather. |

The 2008 Spring Series kicked off on Sunday 21st April in the same inclement weather that sailors have enjoyed all through the winter series! Only the wind had relented, sticking to the medium ranges, but the sun was as distant as Cape Horn to an RYA Level 1 candidate.
