One weeks holiday for the University Halloween Howler then the Frostbite series kicks of in full swing with the Top Dog trophy on the 2nd November.

 
Annual Dinner Dance and Prize Giving PDF Print E-mail

The 2008 Prize Giving and Dinner dance will be held at Normanton Golf Club on Saturday 15th November.  The venue is a repeat of last year's highly successful event at Hatfield Hall.

West Lancs 24 hour race PDF Print E-mail

Team WRSC competed in the 42nd twenty-four race hosted by West Lancashire Yacht Club, Southport over the weekend of 13th & 14th September. With extremely light winds the team gained 17th place adding to the most successful period in the club’s unbroken history with the 24 hour race. To add to the success Team WRSC won the prize for the fastest club from Yorkshire.

Gold for Roy's Lad PDF Print E-mail
I'm sure you'll have realised by now but Roy Goodison's lad has won a shiny new gold medal at the Olympics.  He performed brilliantly and went into the medal race with a commanding lead of 18 points and a silver medal a certainty.  The commentary on Freeview was tailored to Roy as Richard Simmons seemed to just be talking to Roy for half the race!  The Swede fell apart and Paul cruised to Gold and the joy of the nation.

Lleyn Lergy fails to dim Fun in the Sun at triumphant Abersoch Dinghy Week. PDF Print E-mail
The entries were down, but the temperatures were up.  Some WRSC sailors were afflicted by the Llleyn Lergy and missed races, but WRSC sailors were amongst the prize winners. (For those in doubt, Lleyn is the name of the peninsular on which Abersoch is situated, not the lady behind the bar in the Vaynol Hotel.)

12 of the 213 entries were from WRSC, and wherever they finished in their respective fleets, they were able to enjoy a return to what Abersoch is all about - Fun in the Sun.

Awards for All Oppis arrive in time for West Riding SC Summer Camp PDF Print E-mail

 The Award for All Oppis arrived with perfect timing for the annual Summer Camp, held this year over the weekend of 14th/15th June. Over sixty campers stayed over the whole weekend.  In addition to members and their families, friends and visitors were encouraged to bring their children to swell the numbers during the day.
