Don't miss the Tuning and Tactics evening at the club on Friday 1st April at 7.30pm.  Your chance to unravel many of the mysteries surrounding dinghy sailing and for the more experienced sailors a chance to share your thoughts and experiences.  The newly refurbished bar will be open and light food will be provided. 

For you Laser and Solo sailors, the final chance for a few hot tips before the Open Meeting on 3rd April.

Tuning & Tactics

Results for the series to 20-03-11 are below. Light shifty winds again, Tim won the first in his Laser, James the second in his Solo and Craig the third in the Phantom. Craig is just about hanging onto his lead, with the Solos of James and Howard and Dave in the Vago hot on his transom.

The Open Meeting calendar kicks of with the Laser & Solo Northern Travellers on Sunday 3rd April.

The entry fee is £10 including lunch and refreshments. Registration will be from 9.00am and briefing at 10.00am. The first race is scheduled to start at 11.00am, with races two and three to follow.

The next workday starts at 10.00am on Saturday 19th March.

Help is required first thing in the morning to move the bar to allow access to fit a new carpet.

Please bring wire cutters so that the Swordfish compound fence can be repaired, ladders so the roof can be inspected and plenty of cleaning utensils (buckets, cloths etc..) so the clubhouse internals and windows can be given a spring clean.

Please make the effort to attend as it helps to keep the running costs down and your membership fees as low as possible.

Below are the results to date after the second week of racing in the early spring frostbite series.  Early rain cleared to leave some welcome sunshine.  The wind was light and shifty with a few planing gusts.  Phantom 1223 has edged out a lead over the three leading solos.  Maybe next week will be the turn of the laser fleet to shine?!
