I'm sure you'll have realised by now but Roy Goodison's lad has won a shiny new gold medal at the Olympics. He performed brilliantly and went into the medal race with a commanding lead of 18 points and a silver medal a certainty. The commentary on Freeview was tailored to Roy as Richard Simmons seemed to just be talking to Roy for half the race! The Swede fell apart and Paul cruised to Gold and the joy of the nation.
Rumour has it that the credit for the gold goes partly to Roy for introducing Paul to the sport, but also to the family dog who assured me that he taught Paul everything he knows.
