Workday in June
Saturday 26th June
There will be a workday at West Riding Sailing Club on Saturday 26th June. The day will start at 10.00am and finish around 4.00pm when there might be a chance of enjoying a Commodore's beer on the decking.
The clubhouse needs painting this workday so please make sure you bring painting clothes, ladders, rags, rollers, brushes and anything else you have that can help.
Please make the effort to attend at these workdays save the club literally thousands of pounds a year and help keep your subscriptions as low as possible.
Summer Camp 2010
Friday 19th – Sunday
21st June
It’s nearly that time of year again to enjoy another Summer
Camp weekend at the sailing club – quite possibly the most exciting and
enjoyable event of the WRSC sailing and social calendar. This year will be the
5th Summer Camp weekend and another great opportunity for WRSC members
and their friends and family to enjoy both sailing and non-sailing activities
in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This is a clique-free zone – all the
adults and kids muck in together to make the weekend a success – camping, playing,
socialising, sailing, preparing food, and generally swelling the bar profits (the
adults that is!). You don’t need a family or children to attend – everyone is
welcome.
With our own fleet of Opis, Toppers and Larks and qualified
RYA trainers to provide assistance to beginners and less experienced sailors we
can provide on the water activities. There’ll also be some more experienced
sailors around to pass on tips to those keen to build on their own skills.
Even if you can’t join us for the whole weekend, this year
we are combining the camp weekend with the very funny and successful Indoor
Games event. So, if you’ve missed swinging a bottle between your legs or
dropping pennies from your derriere (!) do join us.
The ever popular Spring Bank Regatta returns on Saturday 29th May with a slight change to the format. The event is over 2 days and will include the Ruislip Trophy for the Albacores.

There will be a BBQ on Sunday for those planning to relax and stay on, and you can pre book your place by e mailing

The club would very much like to thank all those who turned up to help on Saturday 8th May for the Workday.
The day started well with a cuppa and a bacon buttie to help the workers on their way! Many replaced the fencing around the laser compound whilst others attacked the hedges and brambles with cutters and strimmers. The electricians got to work on the heaters inside under the expert supervision of Andy Hoey! Graham had great fun charging round on the lawn mower being very careful to negotiate round the flag pole and the goose.
Thanks to Lynn Sales who provided a huge pot of home made soup for lunch
- just what the troops needed to give them another energy boost!
All in all a great day with a great atmosphere! Lots of work was completed around the club well done everyone.
Work Day 8th May
