A stiff breeze and wall to wall sunshine was the forecast for the 2nd leg of the Solo Northern Circuit, sponsored by Winder Boats, held at West Riding Sailing Club on Sunday 8th May 2016. The sun shone, but as competitors rigged their boats they looked out over a glassy lake. OOD, Matt Cook and his team made the call to take an early lunch providing every opportunity for the forecast wind to materialise.
Sunday 3rd April saw the Northern Laser Grand Prix circuit kick off at West Riding Sailing Club. A sunny forecast with a promising breeze resulted in a competitive fleet. Unfortunately, as the fleet rigged, the breeze failed to build as much as hoped.
After a short postponement OOD Jonathan Gledhill got the fleet away in what appeared to be a building breeze, however hopes were dashed when the breeze died as the fleet approached the windward mark.
